2017 Roncesvalles Polish Festival Sept 16th-17th
For the last 6 years the members of Knights of Columbus Councils 8026 & 9296, their families and friends have participated in the Roncesvalles Polish Festival (http://polishfestival.ca/) with “The Knights’ Table” and we have found out that we need a great number of volunteers to keep it running smoothly. For those who have already volunteered in the past years you know what I’m talking about. And if you know some people who you feel will have a BLAST helping out, please pass this message on to them as well!
This year the Festival runs on September 16th & 17th. We are looking for enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers to help us at the Festival and more importantly raise funds for charity!
So far over the 6 years we have raised close to $ 200,000.00 for Charity. All our profits go to charity!!!
“The Knights’ Table”, will need helping hands in food preparation and food serving. This is fun work that can be applied to high school students’ community service hours. So if you do know of some students who are looking to have some fun while they work, please pass this information on to them.
And we will also need servers for the “Polkamania Beer Garden”.
The BEER GARDEN servers must be minimum 19 years of age and they will need their “Smart-Serve” certification. If they do not already have this, we are willing to pay for them to get it.
All you have to do is present your receipt for payment after you have finished your volunteering. (go to www.smartserve.ca).
We share tips among our students and young servers. We will make sure that there is an equitable distribution of gratuities so that all students and youth workers receive their “just rewards”!
We hope that you will be able to help out this year?!!!The Festival takes place on the weekend, but for The Knights’ Table it also begins the week leading up to the weekend AND also the day after!
